It is not uncommon in life to get tired and worn down, particularly if you are busy or have various pressures upon you from areas in life such as relationships, finances, health, children, etc.

So often it is not just problems that wear us out but even success and the daily grind of doing what life demands.

I know this feeling all too well. It is often at times like these that I struggle to pray or even have an awareness of the presence of God in my life.

The only way that I have learnt to lift myself above these things is to seek after God. The challenge however is that even this can be difficult. It is times like these that I have learnt to pray a simple prayer, “Lord help me to pray.” So often this all I find that I am able to say to God.

Over and over I have found if I just pray to God these simple words and really mean them then God’s presence does eventually find me and revive me. It could take a few days or even a few weeks but I always find in the end that peace that only comes from God.

The writer of Psalm 69:32 is very true when they write;

Let the oppressed see it and be glad;

you who seek God, let your hearts revive.

Thank you that you hear my smallest prayers and you never let me down. You always come. You always revive my life.

Father thank you and we make this prayer in Jesus name through the power of the Holy Spirit.

  1. Your heartfelt messages inspire and uplift. –
    In talking and praying to God, throughout the day, I feel so much more connected and closer to God.
    Thanks, to you and Rosemary, in sharing this journey, with others.
    May the grace of God continue to inspire you, and bless your calling.

  2. Thank you for assisting me in this spirtual journey closer the God. May he bless you to continue your work. Peace in your heart!

  3. In this morning’s mass, our priest in his homily in relation to the first reading from Acts, just said we should say this simple prayer as often as we can ‘ COME HOLY SPIRIT SPEAK TO ME AND HELP ME TO BE ATTENTIVE TO YOUR PROMPTINGS’.

  4. I am enjoying this 21 day journey as I view it right after saying my daily rosary for my young son who is struggling in his freshman year in high school. This is for me. I do feel most times very unworthy of God’s love and help. Been through a abusive marriage and bitter divorce. Have lost most of my self esteem. Watching this series gives me hope. Thank you.

  5. Thanks so much Bruce for the uplifting journey again you are so inspiring and I like mostly the daily videos and readings which remind us on seeking God and how we can do this. God bless you and your family always. Amen

  6. I love your honesty. It is comforting to hear you say that at times “I struggle to pray or even have an awareness of the presence of God in my life”. I too struggle at times.
    God bless.
