Lord Your presence Be With Me

My telephone has stopped working. Well almost. The problem is that it will not charge. It started playing up from time to time and it has just got progressively worse.

The closest phone shop for my phone is about an hour away in the traffic if not more and then there is the drive home.

Yesterday I headed off to the phone shop only to find that they were so busy I could not get in.

So, I went home and booked an appointment at the phone shop and today I headed back.

When I got there, I was told that I needed to back up the phone before they would work on it. I did that.

Then when I checked the phone and it was somehow working perfectly.

On top of this when I eventually got in the queue for my appointment, I was greeted with the news that I had wrongly booked and that my appointment was not today but that I had booked it in two days’ time.

It has felt like if it could go wrong it has gone wrong.

We all have days like this when between a combination of our own efforts and just circumstances, that life seems so frustrating.

Today I needed God’s peace. It would have been so easy to get annoyed and worked up but I have found that prayer really helps us stay in control in exasperating times like these.

PRAYER

Lord may your peace reign in our lives not only when Life is going well, but all of the time. May your presence surround us as all times.

Father we make this prayer in the name of Jesus through the power of your Holy Spirit. Amen

  1. Hello Bruce and team
I have to notify you that I didn’t receive the scripture passage along with the reflection. There is a nun who I know very well in the Parish who would like me to forward your scripture passage and reflection for this day 16. Would it be possible for you and the team to send another Day 16 with the scripture passage along with the reflection?
God bless you Bruce and team
    Valerie

  2. Blessed Trinity we thank you for having graced the church with
St. Pope John Paul 11 and allowing the tenderness of your fatherly care, the glory of the cross and the splendour of the Holy Spirit to shine through him.

  3. Amazing because I got up this morning and everything including my children anoyed me and when I got to the office I had to breathe in and ask GOD to take control before I was calm.
Thank GOD for shouldering all our problems. Thank you Bruce for sharing.
