Do you worry about your life? Your circumstances? How you will make something happen or not happen?
Scripture tells us that if we seek the Kingdom of God first, then all the things we need will be given to us. When we place God first in life, we see Him working through all circumstances and events for our good. Whether you are just beginning to seek out God or you have been a Christian for years, we should never stop seeking to know God better!
Lent is a time set aside to seek to know God better and to seek His kingdom first in our lives.
Many times, we are hesitant to seek after God because we are afraid of what we might lose. Yet whatever we may lose is no comparison to what we gain from Him. Everything we need in this life is provided for us when we seek after God first. Do we believe this, or do we limit God’s provision to some areas of our lives and not others?
God is an extravagantly generous God and wants to bless every area of our lives – giving us everything we need in life to live the life we were created for.
Are you seeking God more this Lent? God isn’t hiding from us. He’s right now in our presence and wants a close relationship with us. Sometimes we miss God because we don’t have room enough for Him in our daily lives. Our busyness and capacity to do many ‘good’ things actually stand in the way of seeking God.
Some of us wait to seek after God when we think the timing is right. The best time to seek God is RIGHT NOW because we don’t know what the next minute may hold for us. Lent is a time to lay aside every excuse and seek after God regardless of our circumstances.
God is waiting on us to seek after Him daily in prayer, meditating on Scriptures and through sacramental moments. Seeking after God leads us to a blessed life with peace and joy no matter the situation.
Where can you seek God more today and where do you need His provision?
PRAYER: Lord, here I am. This is me in all my imperfections and I need you today. I want to seek you more today and surrender the areas of my life that hold me back from you. Thank you that you provide for all my needs and bless me as I seek you more. Amen
