Jottings from my Journal

By on 15/05/2019

Do you have those days? Weeks? Years? There is a solution.

Life is so busy, and as my Mum used to say, “when it rains it pours.”

Sometimes I’d like a drought just for a while so I can catch up on things. Does this sound familiar?

I know as a woman we are often gifted with multitasking but how many multi-tasks do we have to do before we go crazy? Some days it doesn’t bother me (probably when I have had enough sleep) but on other days, take my advice and don’t come near me – I’m walking a fine line! My patience is very thin.

Then I am encouraged to take time out and sit at the Lord’s feet. The only thing is if I sit too long, I fall asleep!

But you know what? I know God understands me and my life circumstances. God can see my entire life and how “pushed” I am. I used to beat myself up about it but not anymore. I try to pray and listen to God in my daily hectic life. I am continually sending up conversations to Him and sharing with Him my thoughts, my feelings, my failures and my successes.

God makes me feel welcome every time!

I try to praise His Name during these hectic times and it’s amazing how I receive peace and joy from doing this.

As an old song says,

The name of the Lord is a strong and mighty tower.
The name of the Lord is a refuge for my soul.
The name of the Lord is a pillar I can lean on.
I run to the name of the Lord.

Then I use the Names that describe Our God, Wonder Counsellor, Holy One, Abba Father, Comforter, and Almighty. I am, etc. His Name helps me refocus, refreshes me and reminds me what this Life is all about.

You should try it sometime.

Especially during those mad, crazy days and see how God does refresh you and He takes the burden off you and onto Himself.

For there is always more with Him, way beyond our thoughts or imagination or what we expect!

“Come to me all you who are burdened. … For my yoke is easy and my burden light.” (Matt 11:28)

May these jottings from my journal inspire you to believe in and fall in love with Christ- the hope of the world, as stated in Jeremiah 17:7, ‘Blessed is the man who believes and trusts in and relies on the Lord and whose hope and confident expectation is the Lord!’

Love always

Rosemary
