Jottings from my Journal

By on 26/06/2019

I read something the other day that made me stop and reread what I had just read to see if I had misread it.

It said, “You made me to love me.”  That’s wrong, isn’t it?  It should have said, “You made me to love you!” That’s right, I was made to love and worship Our God.

But God’s Spirit within me said, “They are both right. I made you so I could love you and it is my love that transforms you and allows your spirit to accept this gift of love. The gift that was ultimately given to you by my son Jesus on the cross.”

“I made you so I could share myself with you; so I could love you. In this love relationship, you will be drawn to return my love. Remember I am the Groom, you are my Bride.”

Wow, it is God’s love that draws out love from me.

As John described in 1 John 4:7, “for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. This is how God showed his love among us.  He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.  This is love, not that we loved God but that he loved us.”

So especially on days when I feel unloved, I need to read and reread and reread this; that God loves me and created me to be loved by him.

That is how important I am to HIM.

He CREATED ME to LOVE ME.

If only everyone in the world knew this! How loved would everyone feel? No matter our age, our abilities, our race, our creed, our beliefs God LOVES us.

What a world we would be living in if we all knew about this love. This is what Heaven will be like. Total intimate Love with Our God.

Thank you, God for loving me.

Thank you for creating Me.

Thank you for showing me just a glimpse of what Our Home in Heaven will be like.

May these jottings from my journal inspire you to believe in and fall in love with Christ- the hope of the world, as stated in Jeremiah 17:7, ‘Blessed is the man who believes and trusts in and relies on the Lord and whose hope and confident expectation is the Lord!’

Love always

Rosemary

  1. When we know how much God loves us our behaviour changes – we don’t want to hurt or betray that love
