Jottings from my Journal

By on 24/07/2019

In Psalm 54:4, it states,
Behold, God is my helper and ally
The Lord is the sustainer of my Soul.
(Amplified Bible)

You O God, are what sustain me! How true!

In Psalm 86:16 David says, “turn to me and have mercy on me. Grant your strength to your servant.

Sometimes, just getting up in the morning is hard,

You O God, are what sustains me!

Being nice to that really difficult, unpleasant person is such a challenge,

You O God, are what sustains me!

Struggling with the internal pain that physically wracks my body,

You O God, are what sustains me!

My heart when it feels hopeless and at times wants to give up,

You O God, are what sustains me!

When the end of the hard slog of study, work and never-ending housework never seems to come to an end,

You O God, are what sustains me!

To give and not to count the cost but do it with a smile on my face and no grumbling words,

You O God, are what sustains me!

When your children seem so unappreciative

You O God, are what sustains me!

We have a hard act to follow in Jesus! But Jesus wasn’t an act.

When we are weak (which is often), he is strong and then truly,

You O God, are what sustains me!

Just remember that God is always there for us. Give him your thoughts, prayers and circumstances and see what He does!

Say this often, out loud if you can, under your breath or silently in the circumstances when you can’t.

Let’s see how strong we are when OUR GOD SUSTAINS US!

May these jottings from my journal inspire you to believe in and fall in love with Christ- the hope of the world, as stated in Jeremiah 17:7, ‘Blessed is the man who believes and trusts in and relies on the Lord and whose hope and confident expectation is the Lord!’

Love always

Rosemary

  1. Rosemary
The heart conference in Melbourne on the Saturday prior to Pentecost Sunday changed my life. I don’t say that lightly.
Today I am signing a contract to secure a private practice that Jesus asked me to do in 2013 and 2016.
    It’s now happening in 2019!

Thank You Rosemary and Bruce – your faith has consolidated mine and my 40 years as a Christian ! When I was 18, the Holy Spirit woke me up and I felt baptised by His love and presence. My faith has never faltered- however it’s taking more God RISKS now ! I don’t want to box Him in – but the last 40 days have been an extraordinary ride
