  1. Name something or someone you would define as “great.” Why do you consider it/him/her great?

  1. Reflect on Sunday’s Scripture using the following questions:
  • What do you see?
  • What do you think it means for you?
  • What do you think God is saying to you about it?
  • What are you going to PRAY about it?
  • What are you going to DO about it?

  1. Read Luke 9:1-6. What did Jesus give the twelve to carry out their mission and what was required of them? (Hint: Think Nike)

  1. In Luke 9:2, the Bible says that Jesus “sent them” to Preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick. Is there something that God desires for you to do in ministry or service that you are not doing? Are you guilty of “sitting on the sidelines” when God’s call on your life is to get involved in ministry, service, and helping others?

  1. When Jesus sent out his disciples, he told them, “Take nothing for the journey.” That statement really gets your attention. Jesus was trying to teach his disciples about total dependence upon God. Which of the statements below describes you best? Which of the actions below best represents how God wants us to live?
  • I over plan when thinking about the future. I tend to worry about how things will work out.
  • I strive to make wise decisions and I trust God with the details
  • I never look ahead. I make spontaneous decisions and hope it works out.

  1. We are the Engine Room for the prayer needs of the Sunnybank parish community right now – please hold up their needs and pray that God would continue to be victorious in their lives.
